The Scholarship and Awards Committee presents two types of awards each year: The Billie Dixon Memorial ASTRA Scholarship and the Geraldine Rampy Adult Vocational Award. Anyone can contact the members of the committee for additional information or applications:

Geraldine Rampy Adult Vocational Award
|
The Geraldine Rampy Vocational Award is a $1,000 grant to a woman entering or re-entering the workforce. It does not have to be used for college tuition, although it may be. It can be used for uniforms or work clothing, rent, baby sitting, transportation, work supplies, equipment, or whatever the awardee needs help with in order to go into a job. Applications have been given to Clarendon College in Pampa and the Texas Workforce Office. Individual members may also get information and applications to give to someone they think needs assistance. Applications are due to the committee by April 16, 2008.

Billie Dixon Memorial ASTRA Scholarship

The Billie Dixon Memorial ASTRA Scholarship goes to a graduating Pampa High School senior who is active in ASTRA and must be used for college tuition. The scholarship is for $1,000. It is named after Billie Dixon who was one of our members instrumental in starting our ASTRA program. In February, Eileen Kludt, ASTRA sponsor, turned the information and application forms in to the PHS counselor's office, and students are in the process of filling those out. The Scholarship will be presented with others at the High School Awards Assembly in May.
